Lighthouse Reef- Dive Sites
The Great Blue Hole of Belize
The most famous dive in Belize is the Great Blue Hole, an almost perfect circular hole formed when earth plates shifted causing the roof of this cave to collapse inwards. We know it used to be an above ground cave as it has huge Stalagtites and Stalagmites which can only form in a dry enviroment.
The dive is a 13oft dive and you are going down to see the stalagties. Marine life is sparse in the Hole however on many occasions Sharks will show up, including Bull, Reef and Hammerheads.
